Locals refer to it as the "stinking Lincoln" for good reason. Our party of 4 dined at the pub, on the deck recently and the food was pretty bad, except for the chicken wings which were ok. I had fish and chips and the the fish could have been bounced on the floor. The battered coating was dark brown indicating old frying oil. We asked the waitress how long it had been since they changed their cooking oil and her answer was "one week". The fries were equally overlooked and tough. One of our party did not even get his order because someone forgot to cook it. Because it was around 10pm, they acknowledged the mistake and merely said "sorry, now the kitchen is closed and the cook has left". The deck area was pretty busy but they only had one waitress who was clearly overwhelmed. We heard about missed orders from a nearby table too and it took a long time to be served. The waitress was pleasant and clearly doing her best but the management of the pub dropped the ball on just about everything else. We won't be going back.

I was here twice during my vacation, once for my dad's engagement party, and again for dinner. All I can say is that the food was good, but the service was what really earned The Lincoln Inn high marks. When one is having a party at a restaurant, bar, or other public space, the staff is a crucial part of the experience. Sure, the quality of food, drink, guests, and music all factors into the overall outcome of the party, but the cooperation of the staff is key to pull off the party. In this respect, Lincoln Inn went above and beyond. The room and deck were lovely. The food, while not stellar, was nicely presented, and the staff were all extremely friendly and accommodating. Oh yeah, and the drinks were delightfully strong. I went back for dinner a few nights later to try their special, the Tuscan Lobster Pasta. The menu offers a little something for everyone, whether one wants a full turkey dinner or a caesar salad. The pasta was fantastic and left me wishing I could shameless undo the top button of my pants. And having my stepbrother's boyfriend (who works there as a bartender) there to get us 50% off our bill didn't hurt, either.

Good bar. The band (The Hitmen) was really fun. Went on a Friday and its was pretty packed. It was hot inside and the outside patio, which I like, was populated with smokers, which I don't like. My friend and I sat in a booth which, evidently, has table service. The combined time to wait for menus and for our order to be taken was close to 20 minutes. It was loud and trying to get the attention of a server, any server, proved difficult. We got wings and poppers. The wings were o.k. We ordered extra crispy and they were not. Finally, we paid in part with a gift certificate, part cash. Our waitress took both and never returned with change. We probably would have left it all, or close, but it would have been nice to actually make that choice.

Whenever I get out to Vermont, this is a must stop on my list. I love the pot pie and the turkey dinner- good stuff. I also love that it is a big house with a very new england feel to it. They do have live music, and it would be a great place to sit outside and have a drink.

This place has character-it's in an old house that has had several additions. Great service. The food was very good. I had "the Scotsman" which is basically like a Reuben but with Turkey and Bacon instead. First time I've tried that sandwich. Instead of fries I got the Cole slaw which was also good-a step above the typical church food Cole slaw at most places. Tasted fresh and had some seasoning beyond the standard. There is a nice area for outdoor dining in the good weather, and I'm guessing they have party and meeting facilities as well. Overall a safe bet that could stand to be spiced up a little. 3.5 stars
